Nebraska will extend the deadline taxpayers can file and pay their state taxes from April 15 to July 15, Republican Gov. Pete Ricketts said Monday during a press conference. The extension applies to estimated payments due on April 15 as well.
The state tax commissioner is also allowed to grant penalty or interest relief to Nebraska taxpayers affected by COVID-19, a statement from the governor's office said. Nebraskans must request the relief with an explanation of how they have been impacted by the pandemic, the statement said.
